Join this pack of hunters as they swap stories, trade barbs, share laughs and recall lessons learned. The best part of deer camp is the conversation! These guys invite you to join in on their banter as they set up camp among 50 gorgeous acres of prime deer country in Missouri.

Rob

Rob was raised in Missouri all of his life. He is married to his wife, Rachel, and they have 3 children. When Rob isn’t at the farm, he manages a small business in Jefferson County, and is on staff at a church just down the road. Rob has enjoyed hunting and fishing all over the state of Missouri. He began fishing and hunting under the guidance of his father, Dave. Rob often finds himself atop his tractor while delegating tasks amongst the other Pack Hunters as they continue to manage the Narrow-Gate Farm property and the wildlife that calls it “home.” Its not easy to be the property manager and the top-man/alpha. As a matter of fact, he’d appreciate a little more respect from the rest of the guys for his wisdom and leadership.

Dave (Big Papa)

Dave was born in New York, raised in Illinois and moved his family to Missouri in 1986. Dave is an Eagle Scout and a passionate trout fisherman. Dave has been married to his wife since 1979. They have two children and 5 grand children. Dave began hunting deer and turkey in Missouri in the mid 90’s and passed on his passion to his son and grandchildren. Dave pastors a church in Jefferson County and serves as the local municipalities’ police chaplain. Easily chilled in his advanced years, Dave somehow manages to tag out opening day every year. He then spends the rest of deer camp reading and ditching phone calls from his wife wondering why he’s still at deer camp when he already has a deer. With so much time on his hands, he always has coffee ready when its needed by the rest of camp!

Dan (Red, Little Papa)

Danny is a native to St. Louis and graduate of Mizzou. Danny has been in the field of medical sales most of his career. Danny is married and has two children and 3 grandchildren. Relatively new to hunting, Danny enjoys being guided around by his son-in-law (Rob). Although he and his wife always dreamed of someday buying a house on a lake, they were duped/convinced to follow Rob’s dreams instead, resulting in the purchase of the beautiful 50 acre property known as “The Narrow-Gate Farm” (or more widely known as the “Stain-Ferrara Farm”). He considers himself incredibly blessed to have Rob as a son-in-law. Though Danny is newer to hunting, he is no stranger to the kitchen and is a direct cause of increasing belt sizes among The Pack Hunters Podcast contributors. His Italian and traditional cooking methods being applied to Missouri’s game animals has kept The Pack Hunters very well fed!

Mike (Grandpa, Mooch)

Mike uses a cross bow.

Also, he’s still married to his wife, which no one can figure out how, has like 30 kids and is often mistaken by waitresses as the father of all of the members of The Pack Hunters.

Mike hails from the east coast, but relocated his family to rural Missouri and has enjoyed hunting and fishing the new landscape.

He is blessed to even be invited back to the Narrow-Gate Farm each year.

Jim (The Professional)

Probably the only one you should take seriously (but not too seriously) on this podcast. Jim is living the dream by turning his passion of the outdoors into a career. He is the creator of Jim Richman Outdoors and works as assistant editor and sr. contributor at DeerCast. Jim was born and raised in Missouri and has been hunting and fishing his whole life. Though he is quite the professional hunter, for some reason, he likes to kick back from time to time and go back to his roots, wasting time with the Pack Hunters and getting drawn into whatever antics they find themselves in. Check out more from Jim here!
